New York City · New York
A 1929 Art Deco landmark on Lexington Avenue
The Lexington Hotel, Autograph Collection occupies a 1929 building by Schultze & Weaver, the architects behind many of the grand hotels of the Jazz Age. Set on Lexington Avenue at 48th Street in Midtown East, it opened as the Hotel Lexington and has welcomed a long line of famous guests: Joe DiMaggio and Marilyn Monroe lived in Suite 1806 during their brief marriage, and the hotel's Hawaiian Room was once a celebrated New York entertainment venue. Today its 725 rooms and suites carry Jazz Age-inspired décor and specially commissioned art. Accommodation ranges from Standard Queen and Standard King rooms to Deluxe Double and Executive King rooms, Junior Suites and One-Bedroom Suites, with balconies in select rooms. Six specialty suites honour the building's history: The Conservatory, The Hawaiian Room, and the Arthur Godfrey, Norma Jeane, Hemingway and Lady Ella suites. Off the lobby, The Stayton Room is named for William Stayton, a leader of the campaign against Prohibition; it serves breakfast and dinner alongside Prohibition-era craft cocktails and bar food made with local ingredients. Guests have access to the Crunch fitness club beside the lobby, and the hotel's meeting rooms and boardrooms sit on the East Side of Midtown, within a few blocks of Grand Central Terminal.
