Grand Canyon Plaza Hotel
Grand Canyon · Arizona
A South Rim base just outside the park
Grand Canyon Plaza Hotel stands in Tusayan, on Highway 64 just outside the South Entrance of Grand Canyon National Park: about one mile from the park entrance and about seven miles from the South Rim. Grand Canyon National Park Airport is a mile away, with free transport from the hotel, and in season the Tusayan Route park shuttle connects the town with the park. At its heart is an indoor atrium planted with trees, where an 18-foot hot tub is open year-round and tables sit beneath a wooden pergola. A seasonal outdoor pool and hot tub, a lobby with a canyon mural and fireplace, a convenience and gift shop, and a front desk open around the clock complete the picture. Rooms are Deluxe Doubles with two double beds and Deluxe Kings, both with dual-vanity bathrooms and, in some rooms, a balcony or patio. The 2 Queens Suite adds a separate sitting area, and the King Suite has a private king bedroom and a living room with a queen sofa bed. Every room has a microwave and refrigerator. JJK's Restaurant, just off the lobby, serves breakfast; the Wagon Wheel Saloon covers lunch and dinner; and the Bourbon Lounge pours wine and cocktails in season. The hotel is pet-friendly and 100% smoke-free.
